Is This Thing On???

Happy New Years Eve, Kitty Cats!  (meow!)

Have I really not posted since December 21st?   That's 10 days and we can't be having that.

The thing is, I've been celebrating Christmas…4 times to be exact.

Annual Christmas Eve birthday cake for Jesus.

I've also been having pre-40th birthday soiree's and stuff that may or may not have involved bull riding which may or may not have resulted in bruises.    I mean???  Only old people get bruised from riding the bull.  It's practically a scientific fact.

I've also been doing lots of Crossfit and basically living my life in a chronically sore state.   Hello, Post Workout Recovery…Me loves you long time.

Oh and working.    And managing monkeys.

AND…
getting ready for the biggest group 24 Day Challenge in the history of the world!

So many of you are ALL IN and that's kinda fabulous.
Today is THE last day for pre-order so message me stat if you still need deets.

And even if you miss the pre-order, you can still order your challenge up through the 2nd to ensure that you'll get it by the January 7th start date.

So yeah….

Let's talk about some goals.  Wanna?

I kinda love this.   I'm one of those people that has to write it down.   (Erin Condren planner, anyone?)  I know this seems like an ancient concept and basically makes me sound like I'm gonna ride my dinosaur to the ink pot and quill store to buy my writing supplies but the bottom line is, I need to write it.  And see it.

So if you're like me, print this baby out and go to town.

I'm still working on mine and since you're nosy like me, I'm gonna share those when I'm done.   Mainly, because they help to hold me accountable.

So yeah, 2014…   What a year.

But the good thing is…

….and that's awesome.

All IN and Sunday Sentiments

Leo don't lie, friends.

Sooo…. if you follow Columbus Advocare Runner , you know the deal.  The biggest 24 Day Challenge in the history of the world is going down on January 7th.  We're talking 80,000-100,000 peeps here.

Not only that, but we're offering free shipping and all kinds of other goodies if you pre-order your loot before 12/31.

So yes, join in the fun.  And join me on my private FB page, just for my peeps.

{Unfortunately I have had to close the Facebook group off to my clients or those that are working directly with distributors on my team.  They all put a lot of time into helping everyone on the board, and out of respect to them I have agreed to keep it private.  The group has become rather large and I hope you understand.     Also, I don’t ever want to step on the toes of the distributor that you are working with.  They should have the opportunity to coach you along throughout the process and be there for you every step of the way should you need anything.  However, if you are not receiving the help and support that you deserve please reach back out to me and we can discuss options in moving forward!  I would hate to see anyone go at the challenge alone, so if you need something please let me know!}

#pleasedon'thateme,iloveyou.

The countdown is on, friends.  We'll all be feeling like crap in no time so take charge and get on board now.

Fancy some Sunday Sentiments???

Let's see…

Weekend Workouts:

Friday-   3 miles in the a.m., Crossfit in the p.m.  I almost died of deadlifts and I'm fairly certain that can be legally placed on a death certificate under "cause of death."    Not kidding.

Saturday-   Crossfit in the a.m., 4 miles of speed work-ish tempo in the afternoon with some other crazy people.

Sunday-  5.5 mile recovery run.   Slow, easy, chill, music, sun…happy.

I'll be taking at least 2 days off this week.  Don't be alarmed.

Weekend Highlights…Ten of 'Em

1.  Holiday/ pajama partying for the big one.

And apparently the parents look like this…

Hilarious.   Yes, indeedy.

2.  Wrapping mounds of prezzy's with a side of Fresh Balsam and Bailey's chocolate cherry and coffee.     Sadly, I've still got more to wrap.      I'm gonna need an intervention at this rate.

3.   Attending various Christmas parties and eating all the Christmas goodies like it's my jizob.  #carbease

4.   Deciding that amongst the chaos, all of my frames need new pictures.  New material, if you will.

How cute is this selfie of the little at exactly this time last year?

#weheartfauxfur

5.     Being mad at Starbucks for running out of red cups.   Who's running this operation anyway???   #basicwhitegirl

6.   Panicking that Christmas is in 5 minutes and somehow I feel like my to-do list won't simmer down.

7.   Stalking my StitchFix delivery.   Tomorrow, peeps.   It's coming.     Which means tomorrow is gonna be an amazing day.   By default.

8.  Eating good food.    Again.

614 peeps, I broke up with it awhile back, but suddenly I'm loving Mezzo again.

Foo foo drinks, cuz it's Christmas…  And it's basically the law.

9.   Mapping out the race schedule.    Up next…

Doing the 20 k for both races.      I'm pumped.    Now if Jym Ganahl will cooperate and let us have a mild January day, we'll all be happier than a tornado in a trailer park.   And if he could repeat that for February too, that'd be great.

10.      Realizing that I'm gonna be 40 in a hot second.

Way too late, ps.

But ya know, I'm okay with it.   And if you know me in real life, you've heard me say this a zillion times….   For those of you who have been spared…Are you ready???

I feel a zillion times better at almost 40 than I ever did at 21.

And an enormous part of that is my Advo.    Yes, we all know I have fun.  (see fancy martini pic above).   But the supplements, the workouts, the 80% of clean eating….that's what i
t's about.    And I'm real in this…
I genuinely feel better.

I napped at 21.     I don't nap at almost 40.   Even when the opportunity is wide open.   I don't need to.
   I ran 10 minute miles at 21.   I can bust out a 7:15 if I need to at 39.9.
My pants were a size, if not two, bigger at 21.    I wear the pants I'm supposed to wear at 39.9.

What hasn't changed?  I'm still the same toolshed/goofball/loud laughing/ inquisitive/ impulsive, with a side of shenans, girl that I was at 21.

So yes… Don't cry for me Argentina.   Cuz I kinda like pushing 40.

Hope your Sunday has been all you've hoped and more.

See you in the next 48!

So What Wedneday!?

As always, here we go, yo!

**SO WHAT if I've been watching YouTube videos on the zillion and one  ways to fully utilize my Erin Condren life planner?   The options are simply endless.  And the stickers and pens are beautiful.  And make me crazy all at the same time.

**SO WHAT  if Christmas is a week away and I'm kinda scared?   About not having my shiz together.    These prezzy's ain't gonna wrap themselves.   Mama needs an elf.    An elf that smells good and arrives with Frangelico.

**SO WHAT if my last Fabletics get up arrived and I immediately put that outfit on, straight from the shipping envelope, and drove straight to the gym?     Y'all know I'm not the only one.  Pics of my latest goodies to come.

**SO WHAT if for a split milisecond, I contemplated buying a sewing machine and becoming crafty and posting my creations all over the Insta?     Then I remembered that I ask my mom to sew my buttons back on and decided to stick to running.   These Amazon lighting deals are killing me doe…

**SO WHAT  if my Target Cartwheel app and I are tizight?!   I feel like I practically work for Target corporate at this point.   I've been selling the Target Red Card, with a side of Cartwheel app like a boss.     If you don't have both of these,   you need them immediately.  You'll save a zillion dollars.   I'm cereal. Kinda like Ebates..only easier.

**SO WHAT  if the last two weeks have been a flurry of holiday shenanigans and I basically need dialysis with a side of having my mouth wired shut?

**SO WHAT   if I've relapsed and got shellac on my nails again?   I know.   I was doing so great and had been clean for weeks on end.    However, somehow all is right in the world when I look down at my hands and see the perfection that is shellac.     Sorry that I made you guys by Vinylux.   I still love it but dang, this is still easier.     I feel dirty.

Happy Wednesday!   On deck… a post on damage control products.   'Tis the season.  Don't miss it.

Sunday Sentiments and the January Plan

Is anyone else shocked that I'm actually posting Sunday Sentiments on a real Sunday?  It's just like the olden days!

Weekend Workouts:

Friday-  5 miles in the a.m.   Crossfit Hero WOD in the p.m.

Who does that?    I'm still sore….In a good, partially paralyzed way.

Saturday-

Legit rest and relaxation.      My body was barking and there was no need.  For anything.  Except for this…

OMG, umm…the Home Alone marathon is awesome.   And we were all super jelly of Kevin in NYC due to his genious ideas.   I'm considering stealing my dad's credit card and pulling the same stunt.   Kinda not kidding.
  #damnitfeelsgoodtobeaganster

Sunday-   6 miles at a slow easy, peasy pace.

Highlights:

Title Boxing Club Holiday Shenans..

Runnerdog and the big one….

You guys, Runnerdog is majorly out of shape.   Remember when he used to run 6 miles like it ain't no thang?   Yeah, he's dying now.   And it's all my fault.  Stay tuned for his New Years goals...… Runnerdog is gonna be svelte.  And his body gonna be banging again.  But in the meantime, he loves his girls.   Like a boss.

Chirizo wants to be in my belly….

Pretty much every day.

I can't turn this down.

And once again, I felt like this guy was hiding in the corner…

Target  Shenans...

These candles are amaze.   Quality.  Like big time.   I became obsessed.  And felt like the names on the labels were gonna make me feel all the special things of the label names the second a fire hit the wick.   And I'm pretty sure that's gonna happen.

But more importantly...

My priveledged, non-starving to death children were supposed to be choosing gifts for the giving tree.
Uh Muh Guh.  Has anyone else done this task with Santa believing kids?    In the course of 5 minutes, they somehow convinced themselves that THEY…  are indeed the ones who have nothing to live for and are in need of toys.
Legit, I wanted to strangle them both in a non-Childrens Services way.  Right there in the hot toy aisle. With the rest of the parents who made the same mistake.

But seriously.   We left without a toy.   And it made me want to immediately place giant lumps of coal under the tree.

But I'm over it.  And I get it.  They're kids.  But dang.   They were a-holes for a second.
Surely, I'm not alone.  (and don't call me Shirley).

Grant Hospital girls back in the house...

These girls are my tribe.   And are responsible for 75% of the text messages on my phone.  #sns   And we can all basically say anything and no one is scared.     They're completely and utterly ridiculous.   Just like me.

THE JANUARY PLAN!!!
(part one)

Y'all ready!?

I'll give you some hints…..

1.  We aren't spending money.

2.  We're gonna love it.

3.  We're gonna also hate it.  Big time.

4.   We're gonna realize how much money we flush down the toilet without blinking an eye.

You're in and you don't even know it.

Kinda like you're so money and you don't even know it.

Stay tuned for more deets!

Hope your Sunday went a little like this…

And if it didn't, get your shiz together and pretend it did.

Let's Talk Some More About Divorce

So my last post on divorce resonated with lots of you.    It's become one of the most read posts on this bloggy.    I was amazed, really.       And I hate that for you but love that you can relate.

Because let's face it…when you're going through a divorce, you're pretty sure you're the only person in the first world that's experienced it.

But when you look around,  it's kinda everywhere.   Separated, currently divorcing, divorced…there are lots of us.

Let's talk some more about the facts

1.   One of the most notable and descriptive incidents in our life, really, is that we're divorced.  Even if we're remarried and live happily ever after…we're still divorced.   It's a title that stays with us forever.   Love it or hate it.  It never goes away.

2.   Being divorced with kids is hard.  The best kind of divorce is the kind with no kids.    Kids shouldn't have to live in two houses.   They shouldn't.  But they do.   Lots of kids.    All over the place. A good relationship with your ex is key.   That and tons of organization and collaboration.   Because really, where is the damn backpack?

3.   Having your house to yourself is awesome.  It is.   If you're divorced and don't openly admit this, you're lying.  And if you're lying, I #gotchooboo and I get it.    But it is awesome a couple days a week and #iaintlying.

4.  You can't listen to the noise.   Humans love to speculate.   Especially in situations such as this.  When I think back, I've been loosely accused of everything from turning lesbian (not hating on the lesbians, but a lesbian I'm not) to a sociopath (the serial killer kind, I think)  to a gold digger.   I like the gold digger theory best cuz I kinda make my own money and don't want yours.   Unless you're taking me the casino.  And letting me play craps on your dime all night.   Then we'll talk.     But that's another post.     So yes, you can't listen to the noise.

5.   It makes you skeptical.   Of real love.     As we all know, this life can change on a dime.    We see amazing relationships but time, people, situations…they change.   And  when you're divorced, it seems like no relationship is secure.   No matter how good it looks from the outside.

6.  You laugh at yourself more.   Not much is really a #bfd.   It's just not.   So act like it, people.

7.   Life goes on.   You have a new normal and there are positives and negatives.    Time passes and suddenly things are "normal."   Your new normal.     And somehow you figure out your new normal and somehow its well…. "normal."

8.    You get special girl powers.    Being on your own definitely gives you a little sense of #girlpower like you've never had.   It's crazy but you really do figure stuff out.    And if all else fails,  call your dad.  Cuz dad's always know what's wrong with your dryer.

So yes, as I mentioned in my last post, it's not all unicorns and rainbows but it gets better,  my friends.     If you're currently going through the chaos, as I know some of you are, I'm sorry.   Truly, I am.   But just know that "this too shall pass."   It will.

My December StitchFix Review.. with a side 'o 10 jamz

Awww, yeah, y'alllllz.

If you read Friday's post, you know mamacita got herself a new fix.

For the newbies, here's how this works….  For the non-newbies…#pleasedonthateme,iloveyou.  And non-newbies, If you still haven't created your free profile...do it HERE.    Are we still having this discussion?

Step One:    Go online and set up your profile.  It's super fun and easy peasy and you get to answer a bunch of questions about what you like and don't like.  You look at a handful of outfits and accessories and say yada or nada.  Even if you aren't ready to take the plunge, create a profile.   Because it's fun and I'm kinda sad mine is over.    To create your free profile, go here.

Step Two:    Schedule your "fix."   Scheduling your fix will set you back twenty billzzzz….  However, this $20 goes towards your styling fee and more importnatly is a credit towards anything that you happen to keep from your fix.    Either way, #winning.

Step Three:    Rip that box open like a kid on Christmas morning.  But wait, before you do that, post the sealed box on the Insta and proclaim to the entire first world that your StitchFix is here!  Oh wait, that's just me.   #predictable.

Step Four:     Try on all 5 pieces in the comfort and privacy of your own home…with your own shoes, accessories, etc.  Loved this.

It comes with a special little card like this, which gives you awesome ideas on how to wear your loot.  Absolutely loved this and will keep the card for further assistance.   A great reference to have on hand.

Step Five:     Log into your account and "check out."   Decide what you want to  keep and what you don't.    Give feedback about what you liked and didn't.  This helps your stylist figure out how to best suit your desires for your next "fix."  Within three business days,  put your rejects in the postage paid envelope and drop it in your nearest mailbox.  No big.

Step Six:     Strut your yes's like the boss that you are.

Sooo…What did I get!?

1.  Olive & Oak Alyah Abstract Tie Dye Latttice Cutout Detail Top -KEEP

As always, I wasn't sure about this one outta the box.  However, I threw it on with leather jeggings and black wedge booties and somehow I liked it.   I'm not a huge fan of cutouts but kinda dug this.    I also tried this on with skinny jeans and again, cute.   So yeah, keep.

2.   Kut From the Kloth Harrison Faux Leather Textured Jacket-  RETURN

I did like this.  However, I already have something almost identicial in my closet.   Plus, I felt like it was a tad too tight across the shoulders.  If it were slightly cheaper than the $120 price tag,  I may have wavered.    At any rate, it's a super cute basic.

3. Mavi Gold Ruxin Distressed Boyfriend Jean- KEEP

You guys, these weigh in at the equivalent comfort level that your typical pajama pant would bring.    Only they're jeans.   But not pajama jeans.    Because they're cooler.  Oh and because they have a button and zipper and stuff.    I could wear these for days.   Slightly distressed.  Would look super cute with flip flops all summer.  No brainer.

4.   Collective Concepts Forester 3/4 Sleeve V-Neck Printed Tie Waist Dress- RETURNNNNNNN!

I have no words.    BUT... we all know that's not true…
I mean, this dress has basically been beaten with an ugly stick.   Everything about this was horrifying.  The cut, the fit, the print, the length, the material.   It was basically a maternity dress in disguise.  Only worse.   I felt like I could have fit a family of four plus possibly a next door neighbor or two in this dress.    Then I got sad because I felt like my stylist and I were practically becoming besties and suddenly I felt like we didn't even know each other at all anymore.    So I sent her a long email.  I did.  Yes I did.      #mostunflatteringdressinamerica #rip

5.  Jill Michael Gracie Stone Bead & Nugget Bar Necklace-  RETURN

I can't even believe I didn't snap a picture of this necklace before I returned it.    It was your everyday gold, thin chained necklace with a few black beads.  I wasn't impressed.   No big.  I popped it right back in the envelope and off she went.

So yes, overall, this wasn't my favorite Fix.  Not gonna lie.  However,  when I look at my closet, some of my favorite pieces are definitely from StitchFix.

Lo and behold, my next one comes in 2-3 weeks so giddy up, yo's.

Let's talk music.  Y'all know my 5 zillion playlists are ever changing.  Whatchoo got?   But first, let's talk about my current faves.

10 of em.

1.  Lips Are Moving-  Meghan Trainor -  Universal.  Everybody loves this one.  Errrbody.

2.  I Bet My Life- Imagine Dragons-  Yes, I agree this sounds like it should be a track in the Lion King but I can't help that.   I love this song.

3.  Thinking Out Loud-  Ed Sheeran -  The shiz.  His voice is buttah.

4.  Shotgun Rider- Tim McGraw-   4 seconds in, several moons ago, and I loved it.

5.  Beg for It-  Iggy Azalea-  Title Boxing peeps, giddy up.  Playlist.  This week. Be there.

6.  Hallelujah-  Leonard Cohen-  Have you guys heard this?   Crazytown.

7.  Ain't Worth the Whiskey-  Cole Swindell-  Loving Cole lately.

8.  Clean- Taylor Swift-  Yes, we've talked about this before.   However, I simply can't get enough.

9.  Get Low- Lil Jon-   OMG, I recently rediscovered this oldie but hellza goodie.  So bad.  Yet, so fabulous.

10.  Night Changes- One Direction-   Cuz 1D can do no wrong.  #sns #39yearoldteenager

So yeah, if you don't have these.   Get 'em asap.   And I wanna hear what you've got that you're loving and I don't have.  I do.   We all do.

Hope you're Monday was funerdful!

Laters Babes.
