So What Wednedsay and a Winner!

*SO WHAT if I'm saying "yes" to my kiddos way too often than I should be when they ask for Girl Scout cookies?  And yes, it's clearly because I want the cookies outta the house asap.    #motheroftheyear

*SO WHAT if as much as a love fitness, my main reason for going to the Arnold  is to see if I can find this life-changing super duper plumping lipgloss that I discovered at this event a couple years ago???   I think it's a special high-powered  potent gloss for competitors or something but that stuff was crazy legit and I've never been able to move past it.  #Priorities.    Don't worry, you'll all immediately be notified of the brand  if I find it.

*SO WHAT if I can't find my spring/summer clothes?  Where are they?  I was doing some closet organization and do recall a large purge at the end of last summer.  But seriously????  I've got nothing.     Clearly I can't live like this.  And furthermore, what did I wear last spring/summer?  It's like it never even happened.     

*SO WHAT if I feel like I've suddenly started a local Quest bar revolution in my little circle??   But more importantly,  I kinda love that you guys are finally getting a piece of this fabulous pie.

*SO WHAT if I just scored amazingly awesome seats for Motley Crue and and am more pumped than what's normal?  #glorydays #hairbands  #whatwhat
 Speaking of Motley Crue, if you've never seen them in concert, this is your last chance as this is the last time they'll be touring.  Forever.  Seriously.     They put on such a true "rock" concert, it's not even funny.   It's not.

*SO WHAT if I'm suddenly addicted to the Voice?   I have no idea how I'm gonna keep up with this new TV schedule.  I really don't.

No Bake Energy Bites and My Current Obsessions

First things first….

My friend Seana discoverd these awesome oatmeal energy bites on the Pinterest.  Of course this resulted in a bunch 'o talk at the gym about said energy bites and the possible variations.     The original recipe is this

I kind of played around with the above recipe and came up with a seriously delish variation myself.  Which is legit.  My offspring as well as the husband are all already hot to trot on these.   This tells me I'm gonna need to make another batch, stat.

No Bake Energy Bites


1 cup of Gluten Free Rolled Oats (I get these at Trader Joe's)
1/2 c Almond Butter
1 c Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
1/2 c Ground Flaxseed
1 tsp Vanilla
1 100 calorie Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Bar (smashed to smithereens)
Splash of Unsweented Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 Tbsp. Melted Cocunut Oil
1 Tbsp (or two packets) of Stevia

This took all of 10 minutes.  

1.   Mix said ingredients.  
2. Roll into 1 inch balls.  
3. Layer onto wax paper. 
4. Place in a sealed container.  
5. Freeze. 

   These also work in the fridge but I don't really trust myself all that much and figured it would be more difficult to pop these like popcorn if I kept them frozen.   

Honestly, you could play around with this a zillion different ways, which I can't wait to do.  The bottom line is, they are awesome in curing a sweet tooth and overall, they are pretty clean.

If you are on the cleanse, subtract the dark chocolate and one or two of these per day, would be a cleanse legal snack in my opinion.

It's been a second since I've shared my current obsessions.

Nothing not to love here.   Mindless trash tv.   Basically a "private" look into the glamorous lives and #firstworldproblems of the Nashville wives of country music stars.   I mean????  This may be my new RH's.

2.  Speaking of country music.  Obsessed with these songs.   Yes I like "regular" music too.   We all know this, hence my playlists.   However, you know the line…you can take the girl outta the country but you can't take the country outta the girl.   #facty

3.   Crossfit

Crossfit friends, I'm sorry I made fun of you.  I really am.   However, I take it back and this shiz is no joke.  I've been sore for 3 weeks straight, which never happens.  Plus, I feel like I'm gonna die (in a good way) after every workout.    This kind of reminds me of the time I had to eat crow when I put the Adocare sticker on my car.  

You were right.  I was wrong. The End.

And did I mention that Crossfit World Champ Rich Froning is an Advo endorser???  Cuz he is.

4.  Quest Bars

Like I said last Wednesday….I really wish Advo was responsible for this geniousness.   However, I don't discriminate and these are so legitimately delicious, it's not even funny.  My kids have now discovered these and let's just say they are in the best undercovering hiding spot ever.   Possibly better than anything Heisenberg could have even drummed up.  Neighbors, you'll never find em.  

5.  This quote.   So my dear friend Molly just got back from Costa Rica on an amazing yoga/spa/awesomesauce retreat.     She posted this on her FB page from said retreat and I love, love, loved it.  And you will too.


6.  Trader Joe's

Nothing new here.  If you follow me on the Insta, you know I already posted this today.

My current TJ's faves. Some old and some new.  The GF oats and the chocolate bar mini's were in tonight's recipe.  Stay tuned for another TJ's recipe involving recent purchases later this week.

Sunday Sentiments and the Week of Crockpot Love Ahead

Awwwww...Snap!!!  Is it really Sunday again?

Weekend Workouts:
Friday-   Crossfit (I really almost died this time.  This time I mean it).    I also did a  one mile run in the  early evening just to make sure I was still alive and that I was still capable of putting one foot in front of the other.    Plus I was already so sore that I needed to move my blood. (or something medical like that).
Saturday-   6 miles outside (!!!!)   #Runnerdog came for 2 miles of this.   I've gotta get this 'fro on 4 legs back in running shape.     #Runnerdogs need endorphins too.   Everybody knows that.
Sunday-  6.5 miles.  #Runnerdog came for 2.5 miles. #progress. 
If you follow me on the Insta (Advorunner), you already know the highlights of my weekend shenans.  But let's review....
1.  The monkey girls went swimming.  #wearemout
2.  National Margarita Day was celebrated...twice. (my hands were totally tied.  It's practically my birthday). 
3.  A super fun girls night with my Dayton, Ohio girls happened. LOVE these girlfriends so much.   You know how you have people in your life who just "get" you?  That's these foo's for me.
4. The monkey girls  and the hubby got gussied up and went to a schwanky little Daddy/Daughter dance.   So cute and they are WORN. OUT. from a night of dancing.  #winning
5.  My friend Krista and I pimped some Advo at one of my favorite gyms in town.   Spark was flying. 'Errrrbody happy.
6.  I had a major weekly planning sesh with me, myself, and I and the upcoming week is legit crazytown.....Which is why I'm in the midst of a full on love affair with my crockpot.
Even though I won't be here some nights, I do love knowing that there is real food in the crockpot.
Here we go, yo.
OMG!!!!  I have zero doubt this one is gonna be awesomesauce.   Thanks to for this recipe.  I'm pumped.
I've been making the oven version non-stop.    So here's what I'm doing to adapt to the CP version.   Who knows if this is gonna work, but me thinks it will.   Tuesday is the most flexible day of the week so if it's a bust, it won't be a #fwp.    I've already cooked the spaghetti squash and stored it in a sealed container in the fridge.   I plan to layer the crockpot just like I'm baking it.   I plan to turn it on low in the morning  and leave it on till dinner time.        I still think it's gonna be legit so we shall see.   Stand by for deets.
OMG this looks so easy, legit, and delish.   I'm pumped.  Not gonna lie.    Thanks to The Gracious Pantry for this one.
Bottom line is, leftovers and/ or  'errrbody on their own.   End of story.  #Facty.
This is a huge staple in our house and I love going into the weekend, times of busy-ness, etc., with a vat of turkey chili up in here.  It's just convenient, healthy,  and easy.   I may or may not use it as a topping for a sweet potato.  Try it.  Immeed.

What I Ate Wedesday!

Yep, it's Thursday.  However,  here are yesterday's eats, supps, and bevs.
Wednesday Workout:
5 miles and Crossfit.  
 Don't do this.   This was too much even for a crazy person like myself.  
 I'm still gauging  what I feel okay to do on top of Crossfit. The bottom line is, I am depleted from this new little workout o'mine and I'm still figuring out how I'm gonna balance running and Crossfit without killing myself in the meantime. Oh and I teach boxing too.    And we all know that I love Body Pump.   But really, giving something up would be straight up #cray.   So don't recommend that because my mom has already tried.   For years.   I guess what I'm saying is bear with me while I figure it out.
The day started at 5 a.m. like every other.
  Before working out....Hit me with a shot of Spark/ Catty.
I know my mornings look all smooth and like it ain't no thang.  Truth be told, once I return from whatever workout I'm doing, I'm in the midst of the super morning #crazytown hustle just like the rest of y'all.   I try and have backpacks ready, lunches figured out, clothes laid out the night before, etc.    But still.  
You know what I mean.
Anyway,  before breaky MNS pack. 
Breakfast was a Quest bar and 2 hard boiled eggs.    And of course the MNS 3 "with breakfast" pack. 
Okay, let's talk about Quest bars.  You guys, I'm obsessed with these things.   I really wish that Advocare was responsible for developing this product so that I could love Advocare even more.   We all know I love me an Advo bar but they didn't develop the Quest.    The bottom line is, when I find a product that I love, I don't discriminate.   This we know for sure.    So these are high protein, gluten free, low carb, no sugar, and amazing.  In fact, I actually question if they are a candy bar in disguise and we are all gonna gain 10 lbs. like in that Seinfeld episode with the frozen yogurt.  Not even kidding.   But yes, I'm obsessed. 
Mid morning snack was my beloved 100 calorie almond pack.  Kinda loving the vanilla roast flavor for a change.  Not my pic. (obvi) but I had a pack of these on the road.  
Lunch was random due to my schedule.
Lunch pack of MNS 3, 2 scoops of Muscle Gain, 2 cups of unsweetened chocolate almond milk, a ton of ice.  This all got delicious and melty by the time I drank it.  

I also had a pack of the regular Justin's almond butter (anyone else in love with these?) as well as an apple.    Ps- anyone else think old Lulu bags make the perfect bag for toting around food and random snacks?   Me thinks yes.

When I got home, I had Spark and Catalyst #2. 

And then a  giant dip in the PB jar...nothing to see here, as usual.
I had dinner plans with friends so a dose of good old Carb Ease about 30 min. prior.  We were going for Mexican and we all know I can't pass up diyabeetus- inducing margaritas.  Impossible. 

For dinner, I had this beauty as well as my calorie/ sugar filled margaritas.  My hands were tied.
 Before bed, I had a fat Rehydrate.   Old pic, same scene.

Happy Birthday, Baby Blog!

Today marks one year of these Advobloggy shenanigans!!!

It all started with my first post on February 18, 2013, titled Here We Go, Yo!

Obvi, not much has changed!

Let's take a look back!

1.  The most read post is Sunday Sentiments…on Monday with a total of  14,309 hits.  I have NO idea why this is the most read post as there are zero recipes, zero race reviews, zero Advo tidbits.  Basically nothing but shenans.

2.  Coming in at #2 is the good 'ole Crockpot Thai Chicken post at almost 5,000.
3.  And # 3 would be a 24 Day Challenge kickoff post from September at 2,400.

My most read page is the How I Fuel, Food, and Recipes at 8,100.

Most traffic comes from good ole with searches ranging from  from "Advorunner" to "Advocare running blogger" to my personal favorite "Advocare running shenans"   Yes, more than one person googled that, which tickles my fancy, obvi. 

Coming in second would be Pinterest, followed by Facebook in third place. 

My personal favorite posts:

1.   Columbus Marathon recap.   Mainly because this was a PR for me but also because it was such a fun post to write and I love reliving every second of that day.  I kinda can't wait to write the one for next year, when I hopefully get to tell you guys that I finally got my BQ.

2.  I also absolutely LOVED writing the 2013 recap.   It was awesome and therapeutic to take a good  look back at 2013 in all of it's glory.  The good, bad, amazing, and ugly.    

3.  Not an actual post but I love looking back at my Rules I Live By tab that I wrote when I first started this bloggy last February.   They're me.    Maybe not all of them  100% of the time. However, they encompass me, what I'm about, and how I try to live.  And for that, they give me comfort and a little burst of happiness every time I read them.   

Thanks a ton to you guys for reading and really,  for "getting" me.   You guys get my silly humor, you message and email me telling me that I make you laugh, that I somehow helped you lose 10 pounds, that I unknowingly encouraged you to start running, the list goes on.   You guys are legit awesomesauce and I love every single one of you for reading these shenans 'o mine.

Sunday Sentiments and a Giveaway!

Hi Boo's!

Hope you are having a fabulous V-Day/ President's Day/ long holiday weekend!

Weekend Workouts:

Friday-  Crossfit and 3 miles

Anyone else feel like they are gonna puke?   Like  'eerrrrrrr second?

Saturday-  Crossfit Group WOD and 3 miles.   Our team won.  Yes, indeed.  We did. 

Sunday-  OFF and a much needed rest day. 

What else?

A little V-Day selly with the monkeys + #runnerdog.

Oh and a  little V-Day din din at BW3's.   And…. I discovered my favorite new sauce.  Jammin' Jalepeno, where you been???  Seriously.  Is this new?

Saturday included a delicious dinner at Mitchell's Ocean Club.  614 friends, this is one of my favorite restaurants in town.   If you haven't been, put it on your list.  It's always amazing.

Let's see.  I consumed my favorite drink in the history of the world.   More than once.   Basically a "smoking" Elderflower martini made with St. Germaine.  OMG.  

And I consumed everything you see in these pics, plus some. some more.

Tuna tartar with ginger ponzu and avocado, cheddar fondue, amazeballs lump crab cakes, and ridiculously awesomely spicy calamari with cashews and hot chilis.   I mean????

Of course, there was a piano player trying to make things all quant and fancy and of course I had to photo bomb him.  Mainly because I can't behave.  Ever.  Ever ever ever.   

 It's like he knows I'm there.

What I Ate Wednesday…And Some Other Stuff, Per Usual.

Hey Loves!  I know it's Thursday but let's take a look at how my day went down yesterday, mmkay?

The day started like any other.

Spark and Catalyst at 5 a.m.

As you know by now, I accidentally took a stiff drink of the Crossfit kool aid.

I Spark/Catalyst-ed myself up, got dressed, and off I went into the tundra. 

Oh Mylanta.  As a pretty new kool aid drinker, I nearly stroked out when I took a look at the WOD.

I mean?….

Granted, I survived, but it wasn't pretty  So here is the problem with Crossfit.   While I love the supportive environment and absolutely LOVE the workout, I'm realizing that I will nearly break my knees and the knees of my loved ones in order to beat their time on the WOD.  It's a problem and I suspect a real personality flaw on my part.   Can someone fix this about me?  Anyone?

Here's a text exchange between myself and my dear friend…we'll call her "S"

I went to the early  morning class, she went to the noon class.

Me…"On way home. Holy Crap! Check out the WOD!" (I send her above pic).

S- "I CAN'T look!   Going at noon and I'll take my name off list if it looks too hard!"

Me-  "Do NOT take your name off. You can do it!  It was awesome!"

 S-  "Holy hell! 19:23, Thank you very much!"   

(she beat my time by 46 seconds!)

Me-  "Awww SNAP! Don't make me seriously go back to the 5:30 class and BEAT that shiz!!"

You guys, I was seriously tempted to go back.  I was.  Crossfit kool aid drinkers, tell me I'm not the only one.

Back at the ranch, I had my before breakfast pack of my MNS 3, threw down a Think Thin bar, a dip or two in the almond butter jar (nothing to see here…) and a Rehydrate (forgot to take a pic!). 

ps-  I basically can not have this brand of almond butter in my house.  I've bought it on a whim when I can't make it to TJ's,   The bottom line is, every time I make this mistake, I'm face down in the jar way more than I should be.   'Tis true. 

Before lunch, I had the MNS "before lunch" pack (see above) and then got down on one of my faves.  Mediterranean, obvi.

Chicken Shwarma, beautiful, gorgey beets,  a blob of hummus, and a side of veggie/ lentil soup.  If I were going to the electric chair, this would be on the top 10 list of meals to consider for my last.  It would.

While on the road in the afternoon, I had Spark/ Catalyst #2.  No selfie this time.  I realize they're much more entertaining for me than you.   But at any rate, sorry friends.  

When I got home, I made a super legit snack.   I really haven't eaten much dairy at all over the past couple of years,  However, lately I'm craving Greek yogurt.   Not daily but enough to justify keeping a few containers on hand.  

I mixed up a serving of 2% Fage, 2 tbsp PB2, and a sprinkle of dark cocoa powder.  SO delish and decadent.  Approximately 200 calories, which is amazing for such a filling snack. 

And let's talk about dinner.

Remember how I said I was making this?

Well, I did.   However, after reading the original reviews, it seemed there were a lot of complaints about the original dish being salty.   

So I kind of adapted this recipe, based off the original.

Here's what I did:

Buffalo Chicken Spaghetti Squash


2 lbs. chicken breasts
1 large spaghetti squash
1 bag carrots
2 tsp sea salt
pepper to taste
1 tbsp onion powder
1/2 yellow onion
2 tsp minched garlic
Sriracha to taste
Green Onions to taste
Blue Cheese
3 tbsp Coconut Oil


Cook squash in the microwave.   I cooked the squash exactly the same way that I do for the "pizza" bake.   So easy and basically foolproof.

As the squash is cooking, melt coconut oil in pan.  Add cubed chicken, sea salt, pepper, onion powder, onion, and garlic.

Cook until chicken is clearly done.   Turn heat to low.  

In a separate bowl, grate bag of carrots with carrot peeler or veggie slicer.  I wanted the carrots thicker.  However, you could definitely but a bag of shredded carrots and call it a day.

Remove squash from microwave.  Let cool.  With large spoon, remove seeds and scrape "noodles" into large bowl.

Remove chicken from heat.   Toss in as little or as much sriacha as your little heart desires.  I split the chicken into portions as the kiddos ate it too and I knew there was no way they going to be agreeable to a sriracha-based dinner.   

I used approx. 2 tbsp on my serving.

Layer squash, carrots, sriacha chicken, green onion, and top with blue cheese.

As always, feel free to step back and admire my exquisite photography skillz.   

 Ummm…Holy Crap.    So delish.   The thing is, we are obsessed with anything buffalo up in here.  This dish totally hit the spot, with just a fraction of the fat and hardly any carbs.

So yeah, as always, make this stat.
